    BLUFF CREEK TRAIL

    Bluff Creek Trail Loop is located about 20 minutes Northwest of downtown OKC. It is 3.4 miles long and is often very busy. The trail has a river and is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and mountain biking. You are sure to encounter some wildlife and It’s accessible year long! Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

    Bison Trail is located a little further from downtown OKC, about an hour and a half away near Indiahoma, Oklahoma. It’s 6.1 miles long, is heavily trafficked, and features a lake. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until November. Dogs are permitted to use this trail as well! As part of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, this trail offers a relatively easy walk over rugged terrain past several lakes and rivers. It has unmatched views and no significant elevation gain.

    Some spots of the Bison Trail may be difficult to follow, however, especially near the gorge where the grass is overgrown. Make sure to use your phone’s GPS or the map on All Trailsto make sure you are following the right path!

    OKLAHOMA CITY RIVER TRAIL

    Oklahoma City River Trail is located just South of downtown OKC. The trail is 13.4 miles and is moderately trafficked. The Oklahoma City River Trail features a river, of course, and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options as well. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

    As of April 2020, the trails on the south side are closed.

    STINCHCOMB WILDLIFE REFUGE

    Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge is about 20 minutes Northwest of downtown OKC. The trail is 5.1 miles long and is moderately trafficked. It features a river and is good for all skill levels! The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Many people describe the trail as being shaded and jungle-like!

    TURNER FALLS PARK

    Turner Falls Park has a beautiful trail and is located about an hour and a half South of downtown OKC. The trail is a 3.5 mile heavily trafficked loop located near Davis, Oklahoma. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. The Turner Falls area has a number of trails that lead explorers to views of the highlight of the park, a 77 foot waterfall, and numerous caves. There are also a castle style ruins to explore. Hikers usually start at Turner Falls and then venture up above the falls to the caves and hills above. There is a $16 Entrance Fee, $9 for Children, Military, and Seniors.
