What is cannabis without tasty cheap eats? Enjoying your favorite kush and eating some good grub just seem to go together. Thankfully, in Redmond, we have lots of deliciously cheap options.
Five Favorite Restaurants in Redmond WA
Cuisine: Lebanese, Falafel, Gyro
Small budget? That’s a-ok! In the mood for big flavor and big portions? You got it!
Although technically not located in Redmond, Shawarmaniac’s address is in Kirkland, it is only a few minutes drive away & we had to include this one on our list! Shawarmaniac has some of the best cheap Mediterranean and middle eastern food in the state. Whether you fancy falafel or gyro, Shawarmaniac will satisfy any budget-minded toker’s need to satisfy their munchies. They have a ton of options and combinations to choose from. Try their pickles and infamous garlic sauce.
The service is also great with staff members that are upbeat and enthusiastic to ensure you have a great experience.
2. Rocky’s Empanadas
If you’ve never had an empanada, you’re missing out! An Argentinan delicacy, a baked or fried pastry turnover filled with all sorts of delicious ingredients. When you’ve got the munchies, empanadas are hard to beat. Generally, outside Latin America, California and maybe, New York, finding truly tasty and authentic empanadas is a hard feat. Look no further. Rocky’s empanadas rock!
Enjoy a mix of humita, spinach, and cheese, classic meat, ham, and cheese, etc., they’re all delish!
3. Señor Taco
Cuisine: Mexican, Tacos
Even (oft-annoying) California transplants who think you can’t find good Mexican food outside of Californian love Señor Taco! “ After growing up in California eating great Mexican food, we were relatively disappointed with every Mexican restaurant we’ve tried in the Seattle/greater Seattle area,” a Yelp reviewer commented. “Except this one!”
Señor Taco rarely disappoints. The food is perfect (and great for the budget-minded). The Spanish rice is cooked and seasoned just perfectly. So are the fish tacos. If you enjoy your Mexican food rich, flavorful, with the freshest ingredients, you’re going to seriously dig Señor Taco.
4. Potbelly Sandwich Shop
Cuisine: Deli, Sandwiches
Sometimes you want it simple and tasty. The Potbelly Sandwich Shop is just what the doctor ordered. Potbelly lets you customize any sandwich to your liking. (Meat eater? Try the meatball sub! The meatballs and bread are amazing!)
5. Blazing Bagels
Recognizing folks in Seattle were in dire need of an East Coast style bagel shop, Dennis Ballen created Blazing Bagels. At Blazing Bagels you can find not just a dozen or two dozen bagel varieties. You can find an impressive 35 different kinds of bagels to suit any taste (including gluten-free bagels). To boot, Blazing Bagels’ tireless cream cheese gourmand, Momma, produces 14 varieties of all-natural schmear on a daily basis.
“We are not your average bagel shop, bakery, deli or cafe. In fact, nothing about Blazing Bagels is average,” said Dennis Ballen, owner of Blazing Bagels. “We started from a hair-brained idea and we still have hair-brained ideas but somehow, it just works…”
If you don’t want to make a trip all the way to NYC, Blazing Bagels is the place to go! You won’t be disappointed.
